First Nations Education

St. Anthony's Catholic College is committed to providing an exceptional First Nations educational experience. In order to achieve this, the First Nations Education Team endeavours to create an inclusive learning environment where cultural identity, high expectation relationships, leadership, traditions and practices and community partnerships are valued.

The College's own vision, mission statement and core values of faith, family and future, align with many aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures.

As a result the First Nations Education Team strives to embed First Nations perspectives in the curriculum, support and educate staff, students and the wider community, and enrich the cultural awareness across the College.

As a College, we proudly embrace our responsibility to preserve the oldest living culture on earth, facilitate reconciliation and foster the emerging generations of First Nations and Non-First Nations Leaders.

First Nations Education at St. Anthony's is underpinned by a number of ACARA's Cross Curriculum Priorities, ATSIL Standards, Townsville Catholic Education' (TCE) First Nations Education Strategic Actions and School Improvement Plan.
