CAREER DEVELOPMENT - Year 7 - 12

The Careers Office at St Anthony’s Catholic College is staffed with a qualified Career Development Practitioner, who is a member of the Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA) and the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).  Membership with these professional associations ensures that Professional Standards are met and a quality service is delivered.

St Anthony’s provides an innovative careers program which educates students about the various pathways available during secondary schooling and post-secondary to ensure students are making well informed decisions about their future.  All students in Year 7 – 12 have access to career services, and are involved in various activities that encourage career exploration to enhance their life-long career journey.

Career services include:

  • One-to-one Career Counselling Consultations and Pathway Interviews
  • Virtual University Tours
  • Career Assessments
  • Resume, cover letter and Scholarship support
  • Exploring options through Coaching Young People for Success Year 7 – Year 9
  • Support given with QTAC and other State and Territory applications including EAS
  • Career Expo’s, University Experience Days
  • Holiday Work Experience Program, Defence Work Experience Program
  • Senior Education and Training (SET) Plan implementation Year 10.  Updating SET Plan in Year 11 and Year 12  
  • Advice on subject selections, using My Path
  • Guest information sessions
  • Information on Apprenticeships and Traineeships and other external options
  • University study whilst at school
  • National Career Week activities
  • Collegial partnerships with external stakeholders.  TAFE, Universities and external RTO’s
  • Information Sessions to motivate and encourage career development at school
