Tech Team

Students that like the behind the scenes of our theatre world are involved with setting up the equipment and the general organisation during performances.

Padua Rocks

Students audition and are selected and mentored to showcase their talents in front of the school. The top three acts in each category perform at the Winter Carnival

College Play

Each year, St. Anthony's Catholic College presents its annual production under the stars, situated in the beautifully landscaped grounds outside the San Damiano Centre. The audience is nestled on one side of the dry creek bed, watching the theatrical magic unfold on the other. Preparations begin in term four of the year prior, when the play is selected to provide wonder and entertainment to our audience, and fun and challenge to our actors, who audition shortly after. Rehearsals constitute a gradually intensifying six to seven month process, where students learn valuable performance skills and learn to function as a tight ensemble. Finally, costumes, make-up and hair, scenery, lighting, and sound arrive and, soon after... the audience!

The Scene Project

The Scene Project is Queensland Theatre’s largest Education offering, encouraging drama students throughout the state to engage in the creative process of performance, from rehearsal through to presentation. Each year a playwright pens a new work and the participating drama groups are tasked with the challenge of creating their own unique 15-minute version of the play. During the rehearsal phase, Queensland Theatre artists visit the participating schools to facilitate workshops. The project concludes with local schools coming together in a professional theatre venue to share their performance.
